By CHALI MULENGA in Livingstone   A 19 YEAR BOY has been sent to jail for nine months by the Livingstone magistrate court for being found in possession of property believed to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained.   Appearing on Friday before Livingstone Resident magistrate Chinkashi Chilingala was Justine Kabali, unemployed of house number 792 of DSV extension Dambwa site and service in Livingstone.   He was facing one count of being found in possession of property believed to have been stolen or unlawfully obtained contrary to section 319 of chapter 87 of the penal code of the laws of Zambia.   In mitigation, Kabaili said he was a school going pupil at hillcrest secondary school and that he had abdominal pains. “I am a pupil at Hillcrest secondary school and if am sent to prison my future will be affected, I also have abdominal pains. From CHALI MULENGA in Livingstone   A CIVIL SERVANT from the office of the president has testified in the Livingstone Magistrate court how he discovered that his house was broken into and the thieves went away with his LG plasma Television and other assorted household goods. Testifying, Mr Isaac Chikalipa, 51 of 2401 Nottie broad off Kafue road in Livingstone told the court that on the material date he had gone worship at the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) central church in Livingstone, and before leaving he secured the house by locking. “After 12 15 hours the church service ended, and we started going back home. When we reached home we found that the gate was still secured but when we went into the house we discovered that things had been scattered,” Mr Chikalipa said. From CHALI MULENGA in Kazungula A witness has told the Livingstone Magistrate Court sitting in Kazungula as a mobile court in a preliminary inquire on an aggravated robbery case that he could not tell whether at the time of the crime, he was in Democratic Republic of Congo.     An employ of inter link Africa Harold Chaima of Kazungula told the court that he could not confirm that the accused person was in DRC. Speaking during cross examination by Major (RTD) Isaac Masonga from KBF and partners, who asked the witness on whether it was possible to sneak into a foreign country and committing a crime. From CHALI MULENGA in Livingstone A 31 year old Livingstone mechanics has been sentenced to two years and six months imprisonment with hard labour for burglary and theft by the Livingstone magistrate court. Appearing on Monday before Livingstone Resident Magistrate Chinkashi Chilingala was Bonaventure Sitali of house number D 8 Kashitue in Livingstone. Mr Sitaili is facing one count of burglary and theft contrary to section 301 (a) and 272 of the penal code chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.  In mitigation Siatali told the court that he was the sole bread winner of the family as he was looking after his siblings as both of his parents were dead. “My parents are dead and I am the one who looks after my young brothers and sisters, it is for this reason that I am asking for forgiveness from the court,” he said. Appearing on Monday before Livingstone magistrate Adsen Shanduba was Yonah Banda of unmarked house number in Dambwa north in Livingstone. Mr Banda was facing two counts, firstly he was charged with being in possession of papers and implements of forgery contrary to section 351(a) (b) of chapter 87 of the penal code of the laws of Zambia. In the second count, he is charged with attempted obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to section 309 of chapter 87 of the penal code of the laws of Zambia.
