farmer sentenced to 20 days in prisons

From CHALI MULENGA in Livingstone   A 41 year old farmer of Livingstone has been sentenced to 20 days imprisonment for escaping from lawful custody by the Livingstone magistrate. Shepard Chamukwenya of Simoono village in Livingstone appeared before magistrate Naomi Sithole on Tuesday. This is in case where Chamukwenya is charge with the offence of escaping from lawful custody, contrary to section 119 of the penal code of chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.   The particulars of the offence are that Chamukwenya, on the 23 rd of February 2012 at Livingstone, being a person in lawful custody of NO. 4813 sub inspector Mattaa did escape from such custody. Facts of the case are that he was amongst 7 people that had gone to work Zambezi basic school, who escaped from lawful custody on the 23 rd of February, 2012, the matter was reported to the police.   He was apprehended in Choma where he was transferred to Livingstone to face the charge of escaping from la...
